Meet Yolanda Perry

Yolanda Perry, the driving force behind Save The Girlz, wears many hats. As the CEO of this impactful organization, she is not just a leader but an author, motivational speaker, and a passionate advocate for women's health and wellness. At the age of 42, Yolanda faced a life-altering diagnosis of Breast Cancer. This transformative experience ignited a fire within her to inspire and empower women to take charge of their own health and "save their girlz." She penned the enlightening book "Save The Girlz: Cancer Became a Victim of My Praise" and the accompanying workbook, along with "Making Impact: 8 Breast Cancer Conquerors and Their Family Members' Powerful Stories." These publications stand as a testament to her commitment to supporting those impacted by Breast Cancer. Yolanda's expertise goes even further. She is also a Grief Recovery Specialist, offering support to women as they navigate the complex terrain of loss and healing.

Yolanda attributes her entrepreneurial success to not only completing our Community Business Academy but also taking advantage of our Business Acceleration Services. “Sunshine Enterprises provides excellent opportunities for entrepreneurs to be successful. I have benefited from several of their programs, such as the Business Acceleration Services, which provides coaching services. The coaching assisted me with accountability to ensure I had a successful annual event and provided resources for me to consider pursuing. The Free Legal Service through the Chicago Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights is another beneficial service. We are working on copyrights and trademarks for Save The Girlz,” explains Yolanda.

Sunshine Enterprises’ CBA curriculum Week 6: Break Even and Pricing and Week 7: Cash Flow were imperative sessions for me as an entrepreneur to be knowledgeable of my business cash flow and my financial numbers to be a profitable business.

Yolanda also met with a Sunshine Enterprises Financial Coach to discuss the importance of having personal credit until business credit is established. She says “An additional beneficial service was the Working Credit Program, where students must meet at least once. I continued to work with Sunshine’s Working Credit Program and my credit score improved. Another opportunity I benefited from was the Sunshine Enterprises Parker Dewey program, which helped me develop the Save The Girlz business plan and website revamp.” Her advice for rising entrepreneurs: “Account for the cost before launching your business, do your homework and invest the time to ensure you are making an informed decision. Remember, it takes money to make money. Always search for personal and business development and be a lifelong learner. Remember you are not alone and connect with an organization such as Sunshine Enterprises; a wise man once said little becomes much when you stay the course and be consistent.”

Save The Girlz Day

Yolanda's unwavering determination to encourage and celebrate women affected by Breast Cancer culminates in the annual Save The Girlz Day, an event dedicated to providing pampering services to Breast Cancer patients, conquerors, and caregivers during the Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
