Background
A five-year, multi-phase $25 million initiative to clean, green, beautify, maintain, and activate 205 acres of private and city-owned vacant lots within Washington Park, Woodlawn, and South Shore.
Terra Firma focuses on “Restoring, Reinvesting, & Renewing (R3)” the neighborhoods and communities to promote mental and physical health, reduce crime, increase land value, and improve walkability and environment resiliency.
+ Who runs the Terra Firma Project?
The Terra Firma Project is provided by its training partner, Sunshine Enterprises, through their Community Business Academy (CBA). The CBA is a 12-week course offering hands-on business planning and management training, followed by coaching and workshops.
+ Who is eligible for the Terra Firma Project?
Minority business owners located or doing work on the South Side of Chicago. This program is background-friendly and encourages those with a background to participate.
