Trenton Blythe

Director of Major Gifts 

Originally from Iowa, Trenton earned an undergraduate degree in elementary education from Central College in Pella, Iowa and a masters degree in higher education administration from Suffolk University in Boston. Trenton’s career has included a variety of experiences such as elementary classroom teacher, small business general manager, and start up business development leader. The majority of his career has been in higher education major gift fundraising, most recently at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This mix of roles allows Trenton both to understand the entrepreneurial experience and bring high level fundraising expertise to help grow the resources needed to support our clients. It is seeing the impact that Sunshine alumni have on their communities and families, not just their business that drives Trenton's work everyday. Our entrepreneur's ingenuity, commitment, and relentless pursuit of making an impact are what Trenton eagerly shares with any and all who are interested in supporting them and their dreams. The entire city of Chicago needs as many of these kinds of leaders in its underserved communities as possible and thankfully Sunshine is dedicated to being part of doing just that.
