B.J. Stewart

Executive Director

Prior to Sunshine Enterprises, B.J. served as Chief Operations Officer for Urban Impact, also leading their economic development efforts supporting under-resourced entrepreneurs and small businesses. Under B.J.’s leadership, during 2021, Urban Impact’s Sharks At The Beach entrepreneurship program and Thrive Business Accelerator served more than 100 small businesses owned by people of color. B.J. was a 10 year Arby's Restaurant franchisee and owned a staffing agency. B.J. spent more than 10 years in consulting/public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers also serving as a CPA (not active). He earned a MBA from the University of Colorado, and a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University.

B.J. and his wife, Princess, have a daughter, a professional dancer in Los Angeles, and a son, a cybersecurity consultant in Chicago. B.J. and Princess enjoy skiing, hiking, and walking their recently adopted Westie, Romeo.
